Our Mission
The FADP mission is to provide fetal alcohol assessment of
children, intervention plans and services to families, and
training for professionals, in order to effectively identify,
advocate for, and serve those living with the disability.
In order to accomplish our mission we have developed two components
of our work. The first is our Clinic Services and the second
component is a professional training program.
History
The FADP began clinic operations in 1999 sponsored by Arc
Northland, working with the Minnesota Department of Health.
The clinic was designed in response to the needs of Northeast
Minnesota and was developed by a broad team of community representatives.
The clinic uses the University of Washington’s (Seattle)
nationally recognized 4-digit diagnostic method. Clinic team
members come from many organizations; truly a community-based
effort. After five years under Arc Northland’s guidance,
the FADP is now operated by Generations Health Care Initiatives,
Inc. We are fulfilling our mission to train and educate FASD
professionals.
